Effect of weekly physical activity frequency on weight loss in healthy overweight and obese women attending a weight loss program: a randomized controlled trial
physical activity pattern obesity weight loss diet waist circumference cardiometabolic disease risk
2018/12/18
Background: The effect of intensity and duration of physical activity (PA) on weight loss has been well described. However, the effect of the frequency of weekly PA on weight loss is still unknown.
Beneficial effect of high energy intake at lunch rather than dinner on weight loss in healthy obese women in a weight-loss program: a randomized clinical trial
dinner insulin resistance lunch obesity weight-loss diet
2018/12/14
Background: The association between the time of nutrient intake and health has been described in a few studies. To our knowledge, no study has evaluated the relation between high energy intakes at lun...

dinner insulin resistance lunch obesity weight-loss diet
2018/12/18
Background: The association between the time of nutrient intake and health has been described in a few studies. To our knowledge, no study has evaluated the relation between high energy intakes at lun...
Long-term effects of a randomized, controlled, tailor-made weight-loss intervention in primary care on the health and lifestyle of overweight and obese women
diet effectiveness exercise obesity randomized controlled trial
2018/11/30
Background: Maintenance of weight loss after a diet and exercise intervention is often low. Moreover, short follow-up periods and high attrition rates often impede translation of study results to clin...
De novo lipogenesis during controlled overfeeding with sucrose or glucose in lean and obese women
De novo lipogenesis deuterium overfeeding
2016/6/14
The results of previous studies suggest that de novo
lipogenesis may play an important role in the etiology of obesity,
particularly during overconsumption of different carbohydrates.
Energy density of foods affects energy intake across multiple levels of fat content in lean and obese women
Energy density fat content energy intake
2016/6/13
The results of previous studies indicated that
energy density, independent of fat content, influences energy
intake. In most studies, however, both fat content and energy
density were lower than in...
Whole-body and adipose tissue glucose metabolism in response to short-term fasting in lean and obese women
Abdominal obesity glucose uptake leptin
2016/6/12
Alterations in glucose metabolism during early
fasting may be an important trigger of the hormonal and metabolic
responses to fasting.
Effect of prolonged moderate and severe energy restriction and refeeding on plasma leptin concentrations in obese women
OB gene obesity leptin
2016/6/1
Plasma leptin in humans is subject to both longand
short-term regulation; it correlates with indexes of body fat
that can only change slowly. However, short-term fasting causes
large and rapid decr...
Body-composition changes with diet and exercise in obese women: a comparison of estimates from clinical methods and a 4-component model
weight loss body composition exercise
2016/5/31
Most methods available to clinicians for estimating
body-composition changes have been validated against estimates
from densitometry, based on a 2-component (fat mass and
fat-free mass) model.
Energy density but not fat content of foods affected energy intake in lean and obese women
Energy density fat intake human food intake
2016/5/31
Studies have shown that energy intake increases
when both the fat content and energy density of the entire diet
increases. When the fat content and energy density vary independently
of one another,...
Use of the leg-to-leg bioelectrical impedance method in assessing body-composition change in obese women
obesity fat-free mass percentage body fat
2016/5/30
There is little information on whether bioelectrical
impedance analysis (BIA) accurately predicts changes in body
composition associated with energy restriction, exercise, or both.
Effect of ω-3 supplementation on placental lipid metabolism in overweight and obese women
lipid metabolism ω-3 fatty acids placenta pregnancy obesity
2018/11/29
Background: The placentas of obese women accumulate lipids that may alter fetal lipid exposure. The long-chain omega-3 fatty acids (n–3 FAs) docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) ...
Comparison of the effect of daily consumption of probiotic compared with low-fat conventional yogurt on weight loss in healthy obese women following an energy-restricted diet: a randomized controlled trial
insulin resistance lipid probiotic weight loss yogurt INTRODUCTION
2018/11/27
Background: Despite evidence for the beneficial effects of probiotics and low-fat dairy products, to our knowledge, no study has compared the beneficial effect on weight loss of consuming a probiotic ...
Stiffer breast tissue in obese women promotes tumors
Stiffer breast tissue obese women promotes tumors
2015/9/9
Women who are obese have a higher risk and a worse prognosis for breast cancer, but the reasons why remain unclear. A Cornell study published this month in Science Translational Medicine explains how ...
